What Comfortably Strange Publishing is all about

Business would be a lot easier when you choose to follow the masses but it definitely takes quite a bit of the excitement out of it.  Therefore, Latte’s and Literature was to be the kind of store people specifically visit not only for the latest bestselling releases but also to find new authors and new boardgame designers.  A store where you will be encouraged to try something new altogether.  If you want to stay in your comfort zone you’ll feel right at home, but if you want to step out of it, we are more than happy to help you take those first steps.

Over the last seven years we have come across quite a few productions that unfortunately remained relatively undiscovered even though the quality matches, and sometimes even surpasses, many of the better known, and therefore often, better selling works.  Through us, many of our customers have been able to try some of these lesser known titles.  Feedback has always been positive even to the point where people keep up with what these authors or game designers will be coming out with next.  Over the years this has been one of the most rewarding parts of the job for us.

To introduce customers to things they had never heard of felt like I had discovered something, but the truth of the matter is I had pointed them in the direction of something someone else had already discovered.  Therefore, after seven years I’ve decided the time has come to take things a step further and to go beyond recommending other people’s productions.  I want to become part of the creation process of these unknown gems of the industry and to help introduce them to the world and that is what Comfortably Strange Publishing is all about.
